Job description:

What you will do

Utilises market research, analysis and expertise to ensure the product portfolio is correctly certified in every market we operate in.

Specific responsibility for ensuring compliance with local trade requirements in any geographic region globally where Zettler / Fireclass / Simplex Product portfolios are sold.

To head local certification and trade compliance activities in each region (eg with Civil Defence or similar bodies where local approvals are necessary).

How you will do it

Provides leadership for aspects of compliance and certification of products already in the market. Responsible for writing detailed requirements documents, answering questions during development, overseeing development, and assisting with meeting market needs from a mandated regulatory viewpoint. Ensures that new products fulfil the required standards. Assists in the management of the product portfolio, financial performance and product life cycles ensuring that business case conditions to trade are understood and executed. Understands the global market mandatory requirements fully and works with internal development teams to deliver products that meet these needs.

Defines investment required to enter new markets correctly and identifies and drives these as geographical growth opportunities.

Drives overall process, documentation and prioritization of trade compliance documentation and certification for high volume products.

Interfaces with necessary trade bodies to achieve acceptance.

Constantly keeps up to date with any changing mandatory requirements globally, being able to identify and react ahead of time in order to maintain business continuity - often requiring engineering projects to be specified and managed through to completion whilst working to tight deadlines brought on by changes in global standards.

Required profile:

What we look for

* Bachelor degree in business, engineering, computer science or equivalent.
* Sufficient experience in product management, marketing, engineering, sourcing or supply chain, or a compliance or regulatory role
* Ability to interface with Procurement and Manufacturing plants to ensure that product is manufactured and continues to be made to defined international standards (eg ROHS, EURO1).

* Ability to collect and analyze data to drive strategic direction
* Proficiency in Microsoft excel. Working knowledge of other data analysis tools (eg MS access)
* Working knowledge of ERP systems; SAP, Baan, JD Edwards are definite assets
* Working knowledge of fire detection standards globally is essential, with the ability to understand how and where to find out what is necessary.
* Expert experience and knowledge of International Trade and doing business across borders dealing with import and export requirements is essential.
* Exposure to financial and general business acumen.
* Excellent written & verbal English communication skills, multiple languages skills a definite advantage.
