About the role:
Working in the Energy and Carbon Management Team, you will play a key role in delivering the changes needed to meet the company’s challenging targets for reducing the energy consumption of our water and wastewater treatment and network assets.
Acting as an internal consultant, you will provide expert guidance to site teams on improving energy efficiency. You will work with data to help our teams understand their energy use, make recommendations for optimisation and work closely with each site to implement change and deliver results. You will introduce energy management practices and provide training and coaching to ensure their successful adoption.
Analysis and interpretation of energy performance data in order to develop recommendations for operating our plants more efficiently, and to inform and validate our investment programme.
Implementing monitoring and targeting techniques with the associated business change activities to promote energy-efficient operations and enable performance management of energy use on our sites.
Understanding current and future site processes, plus working with operational managers to develop and implement energy demand management plans.
Validating and reporting on the progress of our energy efficiency programme, setting and monitoring targets and agreeing on progress.
Facilitate and encourage behavioural change by educating the site and keeping regular communications and expectations.To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:
Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a scientific/engineering/energy discipline.
Previous experience of change management and some industrial energy efficiency experience would be advantageous.
Strong communication, analysis and influencing skills are essential.
Ability to interpret information and present it to business managers in an appropriate form.
IT Literate with intermediate Excel and Power BI skills are essential.
Previous water and wastewater operational experience is desirable
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is necessary for this role.What’s in it for you:
