About the WORLD ENERGY COUNCIL

Formed in 1923, the World Energy Council is the global energy body and ‘how to’ platform representing the entire energy spectrum, with more than 3,000 member organisations across almost 90 national member committees drawn from governements, private and state corporations, academia, NGOs and energy related stakeholders.


The World Energy Council informs global, regional and national energy agendas with the aim of mainstreaming energy systems innovation and enabling successful global transition, by hosting high-level dialogues, publishing authoritative papers, supporting new impact communities, and working through its extensive member network to shape effective policies and enable change to happen.


Role Description:


The Europe Regional Manager (sub-region) is a member of the Networks & Communities team, working along other Regional Manager and supporters, and interacting closely with other teams.

S/he is an enthusiastic ambassador for the Council’s vision to enable a successful energy transition worldwide and supports delivery of its agenda in the region. S/he fosters productive engagement of members in activities and works with the Regional Vice Chair to build and activate relationships in member countries and beyond, strengthening members’ capacity to use and leverage the Council’s tools and platforms. The Manager works closely with our impact communities in the region and supports relationship building with governments, companies, academia and other international organisations that can help deliver the Council mission.

We are seeking a Europe guru with proven experience of building relationships with a wide range of energy stakeholders and who is passionate about the Council’s mission and wants to join us to move faster and further together to humanise the energy transition.

What’s on offer:


  • Competitive salary
  • This role will be offered as either - 2 x Part-time pro-rated roles at £17.5k each pending experience for 2.5-3 days per week (contract 1 year renewable) or 1 x Full-time pro-rated role at £35- £40K pending experience (for exceptionally placed candidate to cover whole region)
  • Location is London or in Europe by agreement
