About the role:

Exciting things are happening here at Thames Water and across the water industry as a whole to improve end customers service and this is the perfect opportunity to join us on our journey. We are at the forefront of the wholesale retail market and the inter wholesale market, known as the New Appointments and Variations market (NAV).

WMS is required to develop, implement and facilitate the delivery of Thames Waters’ Market obligations. We enable the sale of services to all companies licensed to operate in the Water Markets, this equates to over £400m of revenue that is managed within the team. As well as managing up to approximately £200m of risk associated with market compliance.

This is a unique opportunity for you to play a major part in shaping and driving this process, create revenue, drive insight and improve performance for the business.

Reporting to the Meter Operations Manager, you will perform a senior analyst role to support the development and delivery of the Non-Household (NHH) Retail and New Appointments and Variations (NAV) market meter operations strategy. Your overall objective will be to maximise meter reads into the markets to enable more demand certainty to our customers and to us as a business. This will be achieved through Data Insight, Planning, Customer and Stakeholder Management, Analysis and Monitoring and Reporting.

This is a unique, exciting opportunity to play a major part in shaping and driving this activity to enhance the customer experience as well as our revenue.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Educated to degree level, or relevant experience and hold relevant industry accreditations (Prince2, Agile etc).
  • Broad experience in NHH Water Utility Market within England & Wales.
  • Extensive experience working for a Utility company, Retailer, Meter Operator or Meter Service Provider.
  • Broad knowledge of metering operations.
  • Engaging and influencing stakeholders across an organisation to drive change and embed a commitment to service excellence and customer experience.
  • Process improvement design and implementation capability.
  • Strong data management and analysis capability.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Risk management.
  • Proficient in MS Office programmes with the ability to present and be comfortable working in a busy environment with ever changing priorities.
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities whilst maintaining tight deadlines.
