GIS Officer
Location: London
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Circa £25K (based on experience)
37.5 hours per week

Our client is a social and environmental regeneration charity, delivering over 500 projects each year aimed at: supporting people to gain skills and secure employment; reducing the environmental impact through energy, water efficiency and behaviour change; and engaging communities and enterprise in improving their environment.

As GIS Officer you will play a central role in GDS team and will lead the design, development and management of spatial databases and applications; support spatial data analysis; manage and deliver a variety of projects, from neighborhood and community mapping to developing and supporting contract management systems and databases.

You will be a motivated and innovative individual who is proficient in managing data from diverse sources and is able to work with people from a range of disciplines. Familiarity in using geospatial software (ESRI/ Mapinfo/Open Source) and creating data visualisations is essential. You will be experienced in Microsoft Office (Excel/Access), with knowledge and understanding of any relational databases (Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and common scripting languages (Python, R) would be an added advantage. Exposure to any CRM applications (Zoho Creator / Salesforce) will be a bonus. With the right attitude any variation around this is fine: aptitude and understanding data, and its usage, is far more important than specific tools.
