Eunomia Research & Consulting is a rapidly growing environmental consultancy working primarily in the fields of waste management, resource efficiency, low carbon energy, marine planning and climate change mitigation. We employ over 80 members of staff and have offices in Bristol, London, Manchester, Fife, Brussels, Athens, Copenhagen, New York and Auckland. From these offices, we work throughout the UK, across EU Member States, in the USA and Canada, and in a range of other countries.

We are at the leading edge of a number of areas of environmental policy which are important in the eyes of governments, and we aim to be influential in the public policy sphere, working with both public and private sector clients.

The establishment of an air quality team is a recent development in the business. The company has always had a significant capability in this area, much of it related to modelling of the impact of emissions to air in relation to transportation, waste management and energy generation. The company is now seeking to enhance the team’s capabilities, having already delivered key policy projects in relation to air quality. The aim is to further develop this work, and also, to build the developing portfolio of work being undertaken for local government.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to the growth of the AQ team’s work. The primary focus of this work will be identifying, creating and winning new opportunities. Alongside this primary aim, you will also lead and support technical project delivery. This is a demanding senior role suited to someone who responds positively to the pressure of winning work, growing a team and expanding an area of business. You will be expected to embrace forward thinking approaches to addressing air quality, and creative mechanisms through which genuine change can be delivered.

In a typical week, you will be expected to identify pro-actively new business opportunities matched to Eunomia’s capability; use your network to position Eunomia front of potential client’s minds for work; and respond to competitive tenders through a high standard of bid writing. You will work with other Key Account Managers to cross sell and up sell into existing clients, and share business development (BD) workload across the company. You will juggle this BD focus with project delivery support, where you will undertake, or oversee, some project delivery, ensuring the projects you win are delivering to a high technical standard, and meeting or exceeding client expectations within budget. You will regularly report on BD progress and project delivery.

Your work is expected to include:

  • Proactively driving multiple BD opportunities at any one time.
  • Delivery or oversight of multiple projects at any one time.
  • Regular reporting on BD and project progress.
  • Input to capacity planning for the broader team.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with multiple clients at all times.
  • Identifying and speaking at key conference events.
  • Line management of consultancy staff.
