Ideally You Will Have The Following

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is seeking to further develop their career with a geo-environmental bias. The successful applicant will be expected to have gained experience in site investigation techniques as well as being able to write factual and interpretative reports. The applicant will also be expected to be working towards obtaining chartership and will be supported in this by senior staff and management. The successful candidate will be logical, practical and enthusiastic engineer with good interpersonal and communication skills and will complement the existing team.

The role will require work on geo-environmental projects on both residential and commercial/industrial developments, for both public and private sector clients. Project time is likely to be split between office and site work, predominantly in the south and south east of the UK. Flexibility to travel and work away from home, on occasions, will be required depending upon office location.

The responsibilities will include preparing desk study reports, designing ground investigations, supervising ground investigations, laboratory test scheduling and preparing factual and interpretative reports, including conceptual site models.

The Individual
The successful candidate will;

*Be a graduate, having successfully completed a degree course (BSc/BEng) and ideally an associated Masters in geology, geotechnical engineering, environmental geology or related subject.
*Have a good technical understanding of geology, site investigation works, ground engineering and contaminated land.
*Have a good understanding of the impacts of geo-environmental works upon development.
*Be working towards chartered status with a relevant institution (e.g. CGeol, CEnv, CEng).
*Possess a desire to develop their engineering skills within the Geo-environmental sector and support senior staff in achieving this aim.
*Have excellent communication and report writing skills.
