Senior/Principal Hydrologist & Drainage Specialist



We have an unique opportunity for an accomplished Senior/Principal Hydrologist & Drainage Specialist to become a senior member of staff to work within a multidisciplinary team that will grow and develop with various aspects of the business.

The successful candidate will be working for one of the UK's leading environmental consultancies specialising in water, land and sustainable development. You will work with a team of specialists to provide services and support to both private and public sectors.

Responsibilities & Scope of Role:
  • Be confident in working amongst the public and private sectors
  • Undertake surface water management work and help to develop these capabilities within the company
  • Can promote, motivate and mentor all staff and ensure management and development of existing and new clients, contributing to achieving the groups billable target and generally support in achieving all company targets and objectives
  • You will undertake technical work, prepare quotations and budgets, and work on plans for upcoming projects
  • Be comfortable liaising with clients on a regular basis


Personal Characteristics & Competencies:
  • BSc or MSc in relevant water management discipline
  • Preferably at a chartered status
  • At least 5 years' experience
  • Preparation of proposals and tenders
  • 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling capabilities for flood risk and water resource assessment with knowledge of industry software packages
  • Excellent client/account management skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Having experience with major infrastructure and minerals projects is desirable
  • Ensure you adhere to all company policies and regulations
  • Be diplomatic when dealing with problems
