Tower Hamlets is a fascinating borough, a multi-cultural community steeped in history. The contrasts and challenges in Environmental Health range from the past historical land uses to the current construction and developments being undertaken in the Borough. The team manages and delivers on award winning projects and has a robust Air Quality monitoring and management profile.

This Team Leader will manage our air quality and contaminated land strategies, supervise staff dealing with pollution complaints (not noise) and develop projects in these areas.

We are able to offer a 35 hour week with flexi-time (a maximum of two ‘flexi’ days can be taken in a four week period), structured training opportunities (CPD), excellent salaries an additional car user allowance, advisory and enforcement work and a minimum of 6 weeks paid leave a year

You will be responsible for managing the Pollution Team and seeking finances for projects to raise the profile of the Team and reduce the impact of pollutants.

You will be expected to be self motivated and appreciate the Council's wider agenda on issues that impact the local environment.

You will need to have experience dealing with project management, dealing with complaint resolution and ensuring that the Service meets the expectations placed on it by the public.
