The Association for Emissions Control by Catalyst (AECC AISBL) is the international non-profit industry association of European companies engaged in the development, production and testing of catalyst and filter based technologies for engine exhaust emissions control. AECC Members’ technology is incorporated in the exhaust emissions control systems of new cars, commercial vehicles, buses, non-road mobile machinery and motorcycles in Europe. AECC will open a new full-time position for a ‘Junior Communications specialist' to support AECC's capability and scope in representing and defending AECC Members' aims and interests and to provide organisational support to the Association, its Members and its Executive Director.


Major responsibilities and tasks

  • Ensure support for the AECC communications and the administration of the Association:
  • Assist and contribute to the work on AECC’s public and governmental campaigns
  • Assist and contribute to the general AECC communication campaigns and mailings
  • Assist in the drafting of AECC communications incl. newsletters
  • Maintain the AECC web sites and social media platforms
  • Represent AECC on general committees and discussion fora, as appropriate and required
  • Assist AECC Members with information, as appropriate and required
  • Organize and assist with AECC Members’ meetings and AECC workshops and seminars
  • Assist the Executive Director with appointments, travel and meetings arrangements
  • Assist the Executive Director in AECC day-to-day general administration
  • Provide secretarial services to AECC Members, staff and visitors


Candidate profile


  • Completed a 1st successful and relevant professional experience in a communications and/ or events-organizing role
  • Qualified to master degree level in communications or political science
  • Excellent communicator who can deal with political stakeholders as well as with the media
  • Affinity with policy-making is wanted; affinity with technical dossiers is a plus
  • Excellent writing and oral skills with ability to publish articles in English
  • Native English is a strong asset; good working knowledge of French and/or German is preferred
  • Knowledge of modern information technology systems, incl. web sites and social media
  •  Autonomous, organized, detail-oriented, self-starter, networker
  •  Motivated to work in a small team
  • Flexible and eager to learn
