We're busy growing our New Energies and Offshore Wind portfolio, developing greenfield opportunities and we're also getting access to projects before (or just after) they go into development.

And that's why we need you. A wind turbine expert for our Offshore Wind group – to find and deliver the deals that grow our offshore wind portfolio.

You'll be joining a talented team focused on helping build new business for Shell. You'll be contributing in a growing industry that operates at the forefront of technical, commercial and financial approaches. And you'll be a key player in Shells team working on the offshore wind projects.

What will you do?
You'll act as a core team member of the wind team. You'll help give the technical input on the wind turbine generator in wind project design, in wind farm lay out, and in wind farm output optimisation. This will be for both new build and the operations and maintenance (O&M) phases of the life of a wind farm.
Here are some of the things you'll do in the role:

  • You'll lead the turbine selection for wind farms
  • Advise on the selection of other equipment to successfully deliver projects and O&M strategies
  • You'll look after the selection and application of SCADA and condition monitoring
  • Modelling of turbine systems and technical system integration
  • You'll help to grow the New Energies portfolio in offshore wind
  • Liaise with the Shell Energy Systems Integration (ESI) team to help evaluate the deployment of innovation

What we need from you

You'll be a wind turbine engineering professional and have solid knowledge of wind turbine design and wind farm optimisation. You'll have a real drive for the integration of wind turbine generators, grid code compliance, and power quality management. And you'll also be able to talk about your views on the challenges of scaling up and cost reduction.

You'll also:

  • Be able to nurture great professional networks internally and externally
  • Use your network to bring in the right wind turbine engineering expertise and methodologies for power systems and renewable energy
  • Adaptable to change and have an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Be an excellent communicator and have the desire to develop your skills in Energy Transition technology.

What we offer you:

  • Join us and you’ll belong to a world where you can feel pride in your achievements and propel your career with global opportunities
