We provide a range of services for utilities and independent power producers, including award winning Health & Safety management, High Voltage system management, site performance analysis and optimisation, WindCentreTM 24/7 monitoring, commercial and financial services. 

The Opportunity

Due to our continued success in the industry, we are looking to recruit Operational Controllers to be based from our Client site in Hartlepool.  Reporting into the Senior Marine Coordinator you will be responsible for controlling activities through site access control (telephone, VHF radio, database, SCADA and weather forecasting tools) on a large operational Offshore Wind Farm.  Some of the duties and responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Regular monitoring and reporting of site performance, including turbine downtime classification
  • Controlling access and egress of wind turbines and associated infrastructure
  • Monitoring of weather conditions and liaising with Client and Contractors in respect to maintenance works and emergency shutdown.
  • Providing emergency helpline response service
  • Marine Co-ordination: arranging site and vessel inductions, specific procedures and general site safety.
  • Coordination of vessel and personnel movement
  • Planning and scheduling vessel transfers in a safe manner
  • Liaising with all stakeholders including Mariners and Port Authorities


Ideally you will have marine, engineering, or technical background, however equally important is experience of working in a highly proceduralised role where you will have followed specific processes.  You will be capable of providing and taking detailed instruction over phone, dealing with high volumes of calls, often with complex issues and occasionally emergency situations.  A working knowledge of Health & Safety would be highly advantageous.

You will be competent user of I.T.; in particular you will be competent with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet Explorer as well as accessing information from databases.  Further to this you will be capable of learning new bespoke IT packages and system SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) used in Renewables. 

You will possess excellent communication skills being able to convey clear and concise information in both written and verbal format to staff, clients and third parties alike.  You will be capable of working as a team and independently being able to prioritise and manage your own time in line with the changing needs of the business.  You will have an eye for detail and will be capable of producing error free work even when under pressure.
