Our client, a renowned global engineering consultancy, is currently seeking a progressive and imaginative individual to join its team. This is a superb chance to join an award-winning company, recognised as one of the best large employers in the UK.

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, your main duties and responsibilities will be to provide a technical lead to the electrical and ICA design of water and wastewater schemes located both in the UK and overseas. This will include working in multidisciplinary teams of civil, mechanical, process and electrical/ICA engineers.

Your typical duties will include:
-Electrical design (power and ICA), at all stages from concept through to detail, of a variety of water and wastewater schemes
-Providing technical advice, guidance and technical leadership
-Liaison with clients and project management of small and medium projects as well as sub-projects/elements of larger projects
-Preparation of, and supervision of preparation of, drawings for plant general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, and cable, instrument and I/O schedules
-Production of documentation
-Attendance of factory and site acceptance tests
You should be prepared to spend periods working away from base either in client offices, other company offices, or on project sites in the UK or overseas.

You will be a chartered Electrical Engineer with strong relevant electrical and ICA experience, specifically in the water, wastewater or related process industries, ideally gained within a consultancy. You will:
-Have excellent technical knowledge and be able to advise other disciplines
-Be able to demonstrate broad experience in LV and MV distribution systems, motor control centres/control panels, electrical installation, PLC's control system networking, SCADA and telemetry systems
-Be able to write and deliver technical specifications, control philosophies and schedules
-Be highly computer literate and able to demonstrate use of Amtech or similar software package for carrying out detailed cable calculations
-Be able to lead a design team to deliver detailed design schemes to required timescales and objectives
-Hold a valid UK driving licence
