Construction Assistant Project Manager - The Green House (DG7 3XS)

Due to the on-going success of our Construction business, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager into our existing team of Project Managers, Engineers and Designers where our services have assisted Clients with more than 550MW of wind plant through construction, and with an additional 650MW at various stages of construction through to the operational phase and beyond. We work on some of the most interesting and challenging renewable projects in UK. The Role 
Reporting into the construction management team you will be responsible for delivering construction related consultancy services to clients from initial development through to project handover. You will work on large scale renewable energy projects, including some of the largest and most technically challenging within the UK market and possibly in some of key markets abroad. We have a geographically diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland to the Fens of East Anglia and many points between. 
 
Duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Assist with the pre-planning, pre-construction and construction phases of wind farm, hydro, biomass and solar developments, providing expert advice internally and externally; 
  • Prepare and submit various documentation including; tenders, technical documents, contract preparation & management and planning condition discharging; 
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally; 
  • Administration relating to the projects including site visits; 
  • Assist with the management of the budget to ensure the project meets the deadlines within the budget, this includes ensuring timesheets are up to date for invoicing and checking invoices are correct; 

Knowledge and Experience 
You will be ideally be degree qualified in Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical qualification. Further to relevant qualifications, ideally you will have experience in a similar role with a consultancy, developer or contractor, fulfilling comparable duties and responsibilities as discussed above. 
  
You will possess excellent communication skills being able to convey clear and concise information in both written and verbal format to staff, clients and third parties alike. You will be capable of working as a team and independently being able to prioritise and manage your own time in line with the changing needs of the business. You will have an eye for detail and will be capable of producing error free work even when under pressure. 

Due to nature of business and role, you will be expected to be flexible with your time and standard duties. A full drivers licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

The role is based from our Scottish Headquarters, The Green House in Dumfries and Galloway (for a more accurate location, please use DG7 3XS). This is one hour and forty minutes from Glasgow and fifty minutes from Ayr, as such we are looking for someone who is local to the area. We are based in an environmentally friendly office in an 11,000 acre forest, allowing immediate access to outdoor activities, such as; running, cycling, dog walking (kennels on site), golf, clay pigeon shooting and Loch Ken sailing 
centre nearby.
