As SCADA technician you work onsite with installation, commissioning, configuration and maintenance of SCADA systems.
The SCADA technicians are responsible for all work related to technical matters on projects. In addition, the technicians make sure that all work is carried out in accordance with the project plan, deadlines and customer requirements. It requires a high level of self-motivation and ownership and pride in finishing the job to our customers’ full satisfaction.
Main areas of responsibility:
PLC - basic logic understanding
Fiber switches splicing, testing and troubleshooting
SCADA system for renewable energy, especially GE Wind
Substation protocols and interfaces /SEL equipment
SQL database administration
System integration and testing
Test & training/Hand-over to customers
Onsite trouble shooting
What we expect from you
You have a strong motivation and desire to explore new opportunities and you prefer to be in a position where two days are never the same. You need to make a contribution with your knowledge of electrical and technical onsite work. The position is based in Portland, OR but you will travel extensively within North, Central and South Americas region. SCADA International offers a competitive benefit package to offset the extensive travel and a permanent contract.
You are an experienced Control Engineer or similar with knowledge of network and server equipment, server administration and in depth electrical understanding. Further, you are able to read and create electrical and project documentation. You are highly motivated by working on onsite installations where you are responsible for the quality of the finished installation and you pay attention to detail without losing sight of the greater picture. In addition you are willing and able to climb 300 ft. ladder with proper instruction, perform work in extreme climate, able to work outside normal offices hours 8-5 and motivated by the opportunity to travel for work outside of US.
You will be part of an international team of 20 highly competent and helpful colleagues in the group of SCADA technicians. SCADA technicians are working globally with installations, service and technical support on projects. Further, you will have customer contact and work closely with your colleagues in Sales and Project
Management to ensure that all projects are executed and handed over to the customer to the agreed cost, quality and deadline.
You communicate fluently and effortlessly in English and if you speak Spanish it is an advantage, but not a requirement. From your previous positions you understand the importance of good interpersonal co-operation skills as well as cultural understanding from working with different nationalities.
