Project Manager - Safety Critical Systems

Job Purpose:

To drive and deliver agreed project objectives for all elements of the acoustic Blowout Preventer system, which is a critical piece of safety equipment, through the planning, organisation, control and direction of focused resources, within agreed scope and timescale and ensuring risk and safety requirements, quality standards and customers requirements are met.

Principal Responsibilities:

1.To lead a multi-functional project team to deliver technically complex, safety critical solutions to a variety of different customers within the Oil & Gas market.

2.To comprehensively define and communicate customers' as well as regulatory requirements and ensure these are clearly documented and understood and agreed at all levels within the business.

3.To manage project requirements and ensure that any changes are approved, tracked and communicated to all team members.

4.To manage the identification of project risks and mitigation of these risks to ensure they are as low as reasonably practicable.

5.To effectively plan and monitor project delivery and the distribution of tasks within the project team including post delivery support such as coordinating the onsite install and commissioning of the systems.

6.To line manage Project Engineers by actively overseeing the work flow, providing direction on complex work, conducting regularly meetings, appraising performance and identifying areas for employee training and development.

7.To manage the project schedule, identifying the critical path issues and developing mitigation actions to ensure on-time delivery.

8.To participate in and run internal or external project review meetings, and ensure that all actions are recorded, assigned to the responsible person and completed.

9.To organise and lead regular project meetings and ensure that all actions are recorded, assigned to the responsible person and completed.

10.To provide reporting information for both internal and external use (customer specific reports) on a weekly/monthly basis.

11.To prepare and maintain all project documentation to QA standards and meets specific customer requirements in individual contracts.

12.To update and maintain the database of delivered safety critical products and systems ensuring entries are accurate and timely.

13.To support customers with concerns or problems in the field and that resolutions to such problems are supplied in a timely manner.

14.To understand, observe and apply a 'safety first' approach at all times, complying with Company policies, procedures and practices relating to Occupational Health & Safety, including all provisions in the Safety System (SMS01/SMS02) eg completion of JSA's, wearing of PPE, following Safe Working Practice instructions, undertaking H&S training and escalation of any observations of activities or aspects that could adversely impact employees' health and safety and the safety of others resulting from personal or work activities.

15.To comply with, and ensure team members comply with, all Customer mandatory Health & Safety rules, whether onshore or offshore, as advised via HSE scope of work, pre-work inspections, tool-box talks and specific on-site requirements, reporting back to Management where incidents occur and escalating instances where risk to personal health and safety is identified.

16.To develop and maintain excellent working relations across all internal Company Departments including Sales, Engineering and Operations to ensure collaborative working and an efficient and timely delivery of Projects.

17.To ensure compliance throughout the Project Management and Engineering Departments processes with administrative/documentation requirements, systems data input ie Syspro, adherence to and updating of Engineering Procedures, all ISO auditable areas and all Company policies, procedures and practices generally merge to specific customer requirements in individual contracts.

18.To contribute to the continuous improvement in Project Management and Engineering processes through the identification of potential changes and initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, efficiency and improving the overall team and department's function.
