The development and completion of oil tool design concepts to meet customer specific requirements or the needs of the oilfield industry in general: provision of technical information, instruction, drawing and design engineering advice on oil tool products to customer.

Engineering Team currently consists of over 120 engineers and executes major design and manufacture projects for the offshore Oil and Gas industry on a global basis. Opportunities exist at various levels dependent on experience.
Some Engineer roles may include responsibility for managing junior engineers dependent on the level and also experience of the individual.
Various roles are available; ranging from 3D designers producing the detail and assembly models through to Senior Project Engineers who manage the technical deliverables of these multi-million pound projects.
The Product is exposed to high internal pressures, low and high temperatures, external (hydrostatic) pressure and hydrocarbons. Generally located on the sea bed in water depths beyond diver depth, the equipment has to be extremely reliable for a design life in excess of 20 years. Typically the equipment weighs in excess of 35T and consists of pressure containing machined block valves surrounded by a fabricated structure with the necessary hydraulic control lines. The equipment has to interface with other associated equipment supplied by third parties.

1. Interpret Customer Specifications into safe working designs - prepare drawings, information and documentation which meets engineering standards to enable the manufacturing group and other departments to produce and market the Company's product

2. Prove by calculation that designs are fit for purpose and meet Industry Codes.

3. Carry out design and development work under the guidance of more senior Engineers to meet customers' and/or the industry's needs.

4. Work within stated procedures to ensure that design records/controls are maintained

Formal Qualifications (specific degree or professional qualification)
- Minimum HNC / HND qualified or equivalent

- Membership of IMechE or working towards membership preferred (or equivalent)

- Minimum 3 years recent experience gained within a Mechanical Design Engineer role
