Driving the marine renewable energy sector is at the very heart of The Crown Estate’s ongoing strategy. From the development of wind farms to the world’s first commercial wave and tidal stream energy programme, our extensive marine holdings put us at the forefront of exciting new industries. Join us and you can help us redefine the sector, stimulate the UK economy and make sure we lead the world in this exciting new technology. You’ll make a real difference and redefine your own career in the process.
We will look to you to ensure the commercial robustness of all aspects of our offshore wind programme, with specific responsibility for the commercial aspects of our development and property agreements with third parties. You will work closely with internal and external legal advisers on the development of our contract documentation and will lead the development of commercial policies, processes and guidance for the offshore wind team. Developing and promoting a culture of commercial awareness throughout the offshore wind team will be part of your remit, and you will collaborate with other Commercial Advisers within the Energy and Infrastructure portfolio to ensure consistency of approach across the portfolio.
Your experience of managing similar commercial processes and arrangements will preferably have included spells within the energy industry, property industry and/or a project development environment. Your strengths will include contract negotiation, the ability to deal effectively with multiple stakeholders and excellent project management skills. An MBA or a financial, accounting, legal or risk management qualification or accreditation would be a further advantage.
