Renewables Project Manager

Taylor Hopkinson's client specialises in the development and operation of wind, hydro and solar projects. In addition they offer consultancy services such as feasibility-stage, design and consenting and project management and installation. The business is growing fast and as such they require a project manager to aid in the delivery of wind development portfolio and consultancy projects. 

The Role

  • Assess the technical viability of wind and hydro projects
  • Define all project stages necessary to take a project through to operation
  • Manage junior engineers to carry out the above works
  • Prepare project plans, including time, resource and budget requirements
  • Detailed design drawings
  • Procurement packages
  • Liaise with contractors
  • Prepare contracts
  • Project managing the installation
  • Sign off contractor works
  • Health and safety and CDM duties
  • Liaise with clients during the sales process to provide technical support and to generate revenue for the client by sourcing new clients for the client’s on-going consultancy services

The Requirements

  • Experience specifying soil investigation surveys, carrying out detailed design, estimating capital costs, preparing procurement packages and managing the installation of medium scale hydro and/or wind projects in the UK
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and civil engineering
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of all the essential skills required to deliver a successful medium scale hydro or wind project
  • Outstanding written communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical and financial concepts to clients
  • Verbal communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, suppliers, contractors and others
  • Full UK driving license
