Salary: £27,578 - £31,020

Based within the Estates Department at the University of Portsmouth, the suitable candidate will assist the Energy and Environmental Manager to deliver the University’s environmental sustainability plans, policies and targets. You will be involved in new technologies and systems to continually improve our environmental sustainable performance and legal compliance monitoring. If you want to further your environmental management career then come and support us achieve these environmental targets and standards:
• Reduction in carbon emissions by 30% over 5 years
• Accreditation to the ISO 150001 standard
• Maintain accreditation to the ISO 14001 standard
• Improve environmental data recording systems
• Establish environmental performance feedback systems to building users
• Maintain legal compliance including the Carbon Reduction Commitment
• Improve recycling rates
You should have experience of energy management, auditing, be familiar with environmental legislation, have good people skills and excellent IT skills.
To help your role be a success you will work with an experienced environmental professional, have access to energy monitoring software and an energy reduction budget.
