The main purpose of this role is to design heating, cooling and ventilation systems for buildings incorporating concepts to facilitate low carbon aspirations, as well as producing full detailed design and performance specifications for new and refurbishment projects. This will include advising clients and stakeholders on current regulations, building physics, low and zero carbon (LZC) technologies, thermal envelope performance, BREEAM, financial savings, value engineering and low carbon/energy solutions. You will also undertake and oversee Part L numerical modelling activities (Hevacomp, TAS, IES and SBEM).
You will be a qualified Low Carbon Consultant and Low Carbon Energy Assessor (CIBSE accredited), able to produce and register energy performance certificates (EPCs). Familiarity with current BS, BREEAM and building bulletin standards is essential, and you will preferably be a qualified code/eco homes assessor. In addition, you will have sound technical knowledge and report writing skills, along with the following computing expertise:
- Microsoft Office packages
- AutoCAD (preferably Revit MEP)
- TAS/IES
- Hevacomp
