URS is currently recruiting for a Senior Environmental Consultant to be based in our well established Environmental team in our Birmingham office.
The workload is very varied for a wide range of different clients therefore, you will need a good understanding of the different drivers for this work (e.g. due diligence, permitting, liability management etc), a proven track record in the assessment and delivery of contaminated land projects in a variety of sectors and with a thorough understanding of the prevailing regulatory regime. You will be required to work within an established team, taking on operational and budgetary responsibility for the successful completion of key projects and through such work, also assist the local management team in the mentoring and career development of other staff members, as appropriate.
You must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in Environmental Consultancy that includes experience in a wide range of service offerings, adaptability to take on projects that may push their capability, but also experience in networking and client account management.
You will need a relevant BSc degree (MSc degree preferred in Geology / Hydrogeology / Contaminated Land / Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science). Experience in environmental consultancy along with a strong understanding of contaminated land assessment and management will be expected. Experience in the geotechnical field would be helpful, but not critical to the delivery of this role.
