Principal Consultant

URS requires an experienced environmental due diligence and corporate compliance specialist within our London team.

As the Principal Consultant you will play a key role in delivering our transactions and compliance service offering. Working with the transactions and compliance team, the position will involve managing and undertaking EHS & technical due diligence projects and corporate compliance assessments, as well as managing and supporting other team members on a project basis.

The candidate will assume the role of project manager as required, co-ordinating with internal teams, other project disciplines and clients. It is expected that the successful candidate will take responsibility for appropriate commercial targets and client relationship development.

You must have extensive knowledge of the application of UK national and European environmental (and preferably health & safety) legislation, in particular its application and good practice behaviours, including the ability to recognise and cross-apply good practice examples and opportunities.

You will demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness, particularly regarding the transactions due diligence process (investment decisions, cash flow planning, indemnities/warranties, financing structures etc) and be commercially and financially aware of issues affecting the day to day operation of the transactions and compliance team, including proposal preparation and costing, legal contracts and behaviours, limitations and liabilities etc.

You will have significant experience in undertaking environmental transactions, due dilligence and legal compliance activities of complex industrial projects, you will also be a proven project manager and team leader and will have relevant qualifications.
