The Waste and Resource Efficiency Team within AEA is seeking a highly motivated, and experienced individual who can contribute to both our waste and product policy expertise.
Role purpose:
The consultant will lead and write bids, and manage and deliver technical projects, in the Waste Policy area with a particular focus on work within the EU.
Successful candidates will demonstrate many of the following skills:
An excellent working understanding of waste policy issues in the EU including key Directives impinging on Europe’s approach to various waste streams including household waste, mineral and mining waste, food waste, commercial and construction wastes etc.
Knowledge of policy design and economic instruments used for implementing waste policy objectives in the EU, and wider, would be highly beneficial.
Wider knowledge of waste policy, beyond Europe and into international waste policy would be a distinct advantage. Product policy experience would also be an advantage.
The Person:
The successful candidate will have the drive to grow all aspects of waste policy projects working with the team and with partners to use their existing skills to win and deliver projects and to move into new areas as these opportunities arise. They will add value to other waste and resource efficiency work in AEA from procurement and modelling, to auditing and product policy work.
The candidate will have an established reputation with the European Commission and businesses in Europe. They will have extensive contacts as a result of their work to date.
