Following the Government’s decision to go ahead with high speed rail, HS2 Ltd is recruiting an Acoustics Advisor to review technical outputs from noise impact assessments, coordinate acoustic consultants and assist the interface with engineering consultants and internal teams.

Specifically, you will be responsible for reviewing technical outputs from noise impact assessments, and will have the opportunity to influence the design outcomes of the HS2 project.  Your remit will include coordinating all aspects of environmental noise for the strategic and environmental impact assessment process and reviewing, contributing and providing consistency of technical input in public statements and other materials.

If you are degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject and possess technical expertise in noise impact assessments, then we’d like to hear from you.  Your knowledge and experience of noise mitigation measures and noise impact assessments will be key, and you should have strong communication, planning and organisational skills. Professional membership with the Institute of Acoustics and knowledge of Soundscape assessments, community response to environmental noise and digital signal processing would be an advantage.
