Our client is a UK consultancy that specialises in providing water and waste management solutions to environmental issues. As a recognised 'investor in people' the organisation takes its responsibilities to its staff seriously and offers some excellent benefits, including flexible working hours, a contributory pension scheme and generous holiday allowance. This vacancy has arisen to work within its Environmental Evidence and Policy business, which focuses on the development of environmental monitoring programmes and the analysis and interpretation of data to provide evidence to regulators and dischargers. It currently requires an experienced individual with an interest, and flair for, information analysis to help industry and regulators to understand the pressures and impacts on the water quality of river catchment systems and coastal waters.
Looking for an opening to take your career to the next level, you will ideally have a first degree and further post-graduate qualifications in environmental science, biology, ecology, chemistry or a related discipline. With sound experience, preferably from a consultancy environment, you will have an excellent working knowledge of environmental management, diffuse water pollution, agriculture, water resources and ecology. You will be aware of the water quality drivers arising from EU and UK legislation and how these may influence the regulators (European Commission, Environment Agency and Defra) and the water industry. At a practical level you will have a proven ability to provide a technical lead to projects to develop innovative solutions to clients' problems. Experience of developing more junior staff is desirable, as is the ability to communicate technical work to non-technical people. A willingness to travel in the UK and overseas as well as the possession of a clean driving licence would be an advantage.
When applying for this vacancy please ensure that you attach your CV in Word format including your full contact details and postal address. Failure to provide this information will significantly hinder our ability to assist you.
