Terrestrial Ecologist

Our client, a well respected specialist consultancy is currently looking to recruit a Senior Ecologist to join their team in the South West or West Midlands
 
The main aim of this position is to provide technical consultancy services as well as assist with the development of the Ecology team as part of the multi-disciplinary services offered by our client.
 
Key responsibilities:
• Project management
• Liaise and/or direct internal/external project teams
• Maintain and develop existing and new client prospects and projects
• Undertake Ecological surveys
• Second read reports for technical content
• Translate technical data and survey information
• Report writing
 
A Degree (Ecology related) is essential to this position with a Masters (Ecology related) and PhD (Ecology related) highly desirable.
 
Consultancy experience is essential alongside good demonstrable experience in Desk Studies. Knowledge and experience of extended Phase 1 surveys and Phase 2 surveys is also vital. You must also have relevant experience within ecological evaluations and mitigation/compensation strategies.
 
Having a GCN, Crayfish, Barn Owl and Bat Licences are highly desirable. Applicants with Bat licences are of specific interest
 
Being a member of IEEM is also advantageous
 
UK driving license with access to own car with business use insurance is essential.
