Senior Ecologist
Full time permanent position to be based within the Environmental group. Our experienced ecology team offers a complete range of ecological services to public and private sector clients
Drawing upon a wealth of knowledge, backed-up with extensive experience, PB’s ecologists consistently provide clients with the highest quality of service. We offer advice and guidance to a wide range of clients from statutory authorities such as the Ministry of Defence and Highways Agency, national, and local government, to power generation and distribution organisations, through to private developers and development associations
Main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing proposals and responding to requests for support
- Supporting and leading ecological field surveys
- Supporting project delivery
- Planning and undertaking ecological field surveys
- Planning and managing staff resources including line management.
- Producing high quality ecology deliverables
- Providing qualified, robust advice to range of clients on ecological matters
- Designing and implementing a wide range of mitigation and compensation strategies
Essential Requirements:
- An honours degree (or equivalent) in ecology or related field
- Ecology survey experience and a good field scientist
- Significant consultancy experience
- IEEM membership
- Holder of protected species licence/s
- Protected species surveys experience
- Capable of managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice
- Good communication and IT skills
- Ability to write clear, concise reports
- Driving licence
