Due to an expanding workload in the north west of England, this large engineering consultancy is currently seeking a number of individuals to lead and develop its civil team.
You will manage approximately 8 staff, to include general pastoral care, workload, recruitment, mentoring, training and development. In addition you will be required to:
-Set budgets for the detail design of projects in conjunction with the discipline team leaders, typically structural, geotechnical, architectural and associated CAD services
-Incorporate health and safety requirements and CDM regulations into designs
-Develop and challenge engineering solutions
-Provide technical advice to the civil engineering team
-Prepare technical reports and calculations
-Produce innovative solutions
You will also project manage a variety of engineering projects including detailed design with requirements for scoping and feasibility at times.
Degree qualified in a civil engineering discipline, you will be a chartered engineer with significant experience of working in the water industry, particularly wastewater treatment works, water treatment, pipelines and reservoirs. You will also have:
-Experience of managing teams with strong project leadership and interpersonal skills
-Ability to motivate a design team to meet deadlines
-Financial management and robust commercial and consultancy awareness
-A track record of winning and delivering engineering projects
-Stakeholder management
-Excellent communication skills
