To be considered for this role it is essential that you are educated to degree or diploma level in landscape architecture and ideally be a member of a relevant professional body. You will be educated to GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths. You must have knowledge of ecological principles, ecosystems and habitat management together with detailed and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice and application of landscape and visual impacts assessment and biodiversity assessments, including Habitats Regulation Assessments.
You will need significant experience of assessing landscape and visual impact of development proposals using excellent planning, time-management and organisational skills. Ideally you will have some project management experience.
You will need to be competent in using office IT systems, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with officers, Members and the public. It is desirable that you have knowledge of the South Downs National Park landscape and it is essential that you approach problem solving and addressing difficult issues in a clear, logical and constructive way. You will need to work pro-actively and independently, at the same time being a good team play with the ability to work in an inter-disciplinary team. It is essential that the successful candidate has access to their own vehicle with appropriate insurance and a current driving licence.
