
Civil Engineer - Permanent - Water Industry - UK Wide
Description
This is a permanent position for a Civil Engineer - Infrastructure : Berkshire/ Reading/ Cardiff/ Other locations may be considered.
Qualifications
Experience within the water industry with a focus on the design of wastewater networks.
Working within the wastewater networks team you will be responsible for the optioneering, solution development and detail design of wastewater networks
Provide technical assistance to staff, including training within specific areas of responsibility and expertise as required.
Maintain up to date technical knowledge of survey, design, drafting, project and contract management standards and techniques.
Liaise with clients and ensure that programmes and projects are managed effectively to ensure delivery in a manner which meets quality, time and budget specifications.
Undertake appropriate research of existing assets and investigation and design modifications / improvements.
Provide support in the preparation of technical reports, cost estimates, contract documentation and contract management for a variety of wastewater network projects.
Assist with the preparation of expressions of interest and proposals as required
Undertake the design of wastewater network facilities using appropriate software and applying relevant design standards.
Using appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and successful project outcomes for clients.
Complete all work in line with Core Values and in accordance with Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Person Specification:
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject
A member of a relevant engineering institution i.e. ICE.
Experience in the design of wastewater networks.
Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office.
Competent skill level in business development.
Ability to integrate into a team and provide technical management over other members of the treatment team.
Experienced level of decision making.
Strong communication skills - both written and oral.
Excellent client service focus.
Excellent organisational skills and able to multi-task.
Strong time management skills.
Flexible approach to work.
