Senior/Principal Ecologist

Allen & York are currently searching for a Senior/Principal Ecologist to join one of the leading global environmental consultancies.
 
The main responsibilities of this position include delivering and managing projects, maintaining and developing a diverse client base and supporting and developing the existing team.
It is possible that you will be involved in both field and office based work so you will ideally have experience within a professional consultancy.
 
Key Skills:
Good surveying skills, e.g. extended phase 1 habitat surveys; ornithology surveys and protected species survey;
Experience of the protected species licensing process and mitigation;
Knowledge and experience in Ecological Impact Assessment, ecological clerk of works and ecological mitigation;
Knowledge of UK & European wildlife legislation;
Excellent report writing skills;
Demonstrable project management experience;
Experience of managing and liaising with clients, stakeholders and contractors;
Ideally some experience in mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
 
Having one or more protected species licenses is highly desirable
