The Civil Aviation Authority is the UK’s specialist aviation regulator. Through its skills and expertise it is recognised as a world leader in its field.
The Regulatory Policy Group (RPG) is based in central London. The remit of RPG is to improve the choice and value that aviation delivers to consumers, protecting their interests, and working with industry to improve environmental outcomes. The work of RPG is varied and challenging, and includes: the provision of expert advice across the CAA and to Government; working with industry and consumer groups to improve outcomes by facilitating change, enforcement activity against airport and airlines as necessary.
You will be part of the small but high-profile Economic Policy and International Aviation team responsible for the development of an integrated policy making function within RPG. This will include taking forward work on the organisation’s sustainability objective aimed at helping the aviation sector meet its environmental challenges.
Reporting directly to the senior lead on the sustainability programme in RPG, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of an ambitious and wide-ranging work programme, as well as providing advice across the organisation on aviation issues with an environmental dimension.
You will be capable of communicating at a senior level and be a team player who is able to drive high quality results and achieve change through solid project management skills. You will have the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, including those in Government. Evidence of strong analytical abilities, policy development and direct experience of successful environmental or change management programmes in other organisations are highly desirable.
