Catchment Coordinator
Worthing, Chichester or Pevensey
£30,723 – £34,280
Here at the Environment Agency, we rely on a great team to look after the environment. Simply, it’s about making England and Wales a better place to live. Right now, we need a seasoned professional to help deliver environmental improvements within a river catchment: the Solent & South Downs area that covers Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, East and West Sussex.
It’s the chance to achieve an ambitious suite of environmental targets and improvements set out in the Water Framework Directive through partnership working. As a Catchment Coordinator you will work with local partners, colleagues and communities to deliver environmental improvements.
You will be the driving force in developing the partnership actions set out in the South East River Basin Management Plan. It’ll test your abilities as you think, liaise, and work across different environmental disciplines to achieve results. Through your efforts, we will address the problems of pollution, manage the impact of low river flows, and improve habitats.
You’ll come to us with extensive environmental experience so you’ll have a proven track record of delivering environmental outcomes in partnership with others. An excellent communicator with a flair for influencing decision makers and external stakeholders, you will be admired for your strength in delivering projects and programmes.
What’s more, you’ll be skilled in making decisions based on technical and stakeholder analysis with an innovative approach to problem solving. The role involves travel throughout your designated area, so a full driving licence will be essential.
In return, we offer a competitive package with a range of benefits and the opportunity to make a real difference to the environment. We are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve and welcome applications from candidates seeking flexible working patterns, including job share.
