You will take responsibility for all the technical design aspects of up to three major district heating projects at a time, leading a team of designers to meet delivery timescales, taking into account the commercial aspects of the operation to maximise returns. This will include:
-Managing the design of major multimillion pound district heating projects throughout the UK, working autonomously.
-The appraisal and interpretation of client requirements to ensure that all technical, commercial and legislative parameters are understood and communicated to appropriate personnel.
-Ensure that projects are designed to quality and design standards as well as meeting all relevant legislative requirements.
-Contribute towards the development of the design and operational strategy utilising your expertise.
-Contribute towards and develop processes, specifications and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the design team.
-Provide guidance and mentoring to staff.
You will be qualified to HNC/HND/degree level with extensive relevant experience. This will have provided you with a broad range of knowledge and competencies, including: CAD software, CDM, auditing, Hazop/risk assessment, health and safety legislation, CHP system, pressure system standards and control (PED), boiler functionality & operation and design, relevant boiler design codes, DH network design, chilled water system design, electrical design, thermal and electrical system modelling, hot water distributions, BMS/SCADA systems, biomass systems, biomass gasification, flue gas dispersion modelling, and water treatment.
