Consultant / Senior Consultant with experience of waste facility regulation is required for successful independent consultancy with particular expertise in the waste management and brownfield land development sectors. They are retained by all the major waste companies and work closely with other specialist consultancies to deliver successful multidisciplinary projects.
You will be working with an existing expert team preparing regulatory applications to support the development of major waste management facilities including, landfill sites, treatment plants and energy from waste activities. The work will include the preparation of Environmental Permits and planning applications.
Depending on your skills, experience and interests there will also be opportunities to work on a wide range of related technical, scientific or engineering subjects, including environmental impact studies, risk assessments, technical design, civils contract management, site investigations and contaminated land assessment.
You will be expected to effectively liaise with clients and the regulatory authorities. Good written and personal communication skills are essential together with a thorough and up to date understanding of the relevant regulatory regimes.
Experience of one or more of the following would be desirable:
odour and bio-aerosol risk assessments air dispersion modelling; and/or
groundwater risk assessment.
You should have experience of waste regulation, a relevant first degree and preferably a higher degree. Chartered status and/or membership of a relevant body (CIWM, CIWEM, IEMA, Geol Soc, ICE) would be an advantage.
