Our client is a leading renewable fuel company based in the UK, using landfill gas to manufacture an innovative liquefied biofuel.

Over the last few years, the company has gone from strength to strength, signing contracts for with many of the UK and world's leading brands, and is uniquely placed to take advantage of the transition to low carbon logistics.

Having closed a multi-million pound funding package with an international energy investor, the company now has funding to allow it to embark on a dramatic and exciting expansion and growth programme. The funding will allow the company to develop additional biofuel sources, deploy strategic refuelling infrastructure for its customers and bring important supply chain elements such as fuel logistics in-house.

This expansion will see our client grow by at least 10 times over the coming 5 years. As a critical part of this growth programme, the company is looking to reinforce its management team in critical areas so it has the resources to achieve its goals.

Job Title:

Operations manager

Job Purpose:
This is a key strategic hire. The Operations Manager will report the Technical and Operations Director. This person will be responsible for the operation of the biofuel production facility. The role will be responsible for safe operation of the facility, meeting fuel production budgets, deploying capital maintenance programs and budgets. The role requires the line management of all operational personnel as well as the management of fuel delivery logistics.
Career progression for the role will be made available through the expansion of the position to cover the management of future biomethane production facilities planned by the company over the next 4 years.

Job Duties:
-To be responsible for the safe operation of the biofuel production facility
-To ensure the facility operates within its permits and permissions
-To ensure the management systems of the company are maintained and observed at all times
-To operate as line manager for all operational personnel.
-To be responsible for meeting fuel production budgets for the facility
-To be responsible for the preparation, management and deployment of capital and maintenance programs.
-To be responsible for the fuel delivery logistics to ensure timely and effective fuel supply for customers.
-To be responsible for the preparation and production of management information required by the company.
-To be the main point of contact and liaison with the site and gas supply owner.
-Be a champion for excellent customer service, ensure the company can be proactive in all customer facing activities.
-Maintain an excellent working relationship with all external suppliers.
-Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
-The successful candidate must have experience of:
oStaff Supervision
oEngineering /Logistics
oMaintaining/ operating liquefied gas and or gas separation plants.
-You must be educated to Degree level in an engineering or energy related technical discipline.
-Key skills include:
oManaging Processes, Process Improvement, Tracking Budget Expenses, Project Planning
oDealing with Complexity
