Environmental & Sustainability Advisor is required to work with the FM maintenance teams. I am looking specifically for an energy manager who has experience in developing solutions, driving change and improving energy efficiency.
The role will include managing the contract to the legislative requirements, Contract requirements and requirements for Energy, Waste and general proactive environmental management.
Energy-
You will be providing advice on driving energy efficiency to partners including optimising assets and cost saving identification.
The role will require you to present and communicate findings and projects to clients in an easily understandable way. It is essential you are a strong communicator and can turn complex solutions into understandable conversation for non engineering/ energy aware clients.
Many new contracts work using Energy performance contracts, ideally you will have knowledge of these contracts.
Waste-
Your key responsibility will be delivering the contractual, legal obligations of waste management through the FM team with assistance from your self.
The key areas are to manage the compliance of the clinical waste segregation and disposal and train NHS staff in the correct segregation to minimise waste and reduce costs.
The role will require you to liaise with the trust estates team, PFI partners, soft service providers and own hard FM team. There will also be a requirement for you to deliver training to the end users i.e. nurses & environmental champions
Educational / Technical Requirements:
Degree level or good experience
Knowledge in the areas of energy reduction
Understanding of Building Management Systems / control systems
and renewable energy technologies
Waste cost & volume reduction in the healthcare sector.
You will understand the importance of reducing waste to landfill and reducing waste costs.
Additional information
This role requires the individual to have experience in Energy and Waste. As the project portfolio in the Midlands and North consists of mainly Healthcare sites (Hospitals), experience in this field is preferred.
