Waste Regulatory Specialist

North West / Midlands / Anglian / South East£30,720 - £32,980 + competitive benefits package + lease car

Project manager, trouble-shooter, coach - these are just a few of the things you’ll need to be as a Waste Regulatory Specialist. We’re seeking to appoint talented, dedicated individuals to a range of roles throughout five regions in England and Wales. Wherever you’re based, you can be sure of two things: a uniquely varied and challenging remit, and the chance to make a genuine impact.

The role
Your key role will be enforcing high standards of environmental performance and regulatory compliance at sites that handle or process waste. The issues you deal with will often be complex and high profile. Responsible for a geographic area, you’ll focus on improving practices at local sites. At the same time, you’ll cut unnecessary bureaucracy out of the picture altogether. And by championing a better deal for the environment, you’ll achieve a better life for everyone.
You’ll enjoy a wide range of ever-evolving duties, which might include site inspections, assessing industry proposals, developing regulatory strategies and leading programmes of work. Your contribution doesn’t stop at action planning, analysis and problem solving. As a recognised expert, you’ll actively share your expertise - from advising customers and colleagues, to mentoring teams.

Skills/Experience
While you'll enjoy our support to develop your skills and knowledge, we’ll certainly expect you to join us with an impressive and relevant track record. Qualified to degree level in an environmental or engineering discipline, you will ideally also be a member of an appropriate professional body. With an industry background in process, manufacturing or waste, you’ll demonstrate a proven talent for plant, site, technical or project management.
In return, we offer a competitive package with a range of benefits and the opportunity to make a real difference to the environment. We are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve and welcome applications from candidates seeking flexible working patterns, including job share.
