There is an exciting opportunity for a twelve month paid work placement within the Environmental Department at the Sheffield based melting shop in the U.K.
The successful applicant will be responsible for routine monitoring and sampling, as well as sample analysis and data entry. There may also be the opportunity for the successful candidate to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical experience on new projects identified during the placement.
By the end of the twelve months, the individual will have gained a good understanding of managing the environmental impacts of a large industrial works and will have developed an awareness of relevant environmental legislation.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated individual capable of managing their own work load as well as assisting other members of this dynamic department with ongoing projects.
The ideal candidate would have a keen interest in developing their career in the environmental field, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Some practical lab experience would be preferred, and all candidates must have a good understanding of Microsoft office, in particular Excel and Word.

A U.K. driving licence is essential as this role involves travelling to, and carrying out a number of duties at, a number of our Sheffield operational sites.
Applications are accepted from individuals studying towards an undergraduate degree in environmental science or other related disciplines such as environmental engineer or degrees such as geography or chemistry where there are environmental modules included.
The timing of the twelve month placement is intended to take place after the second year of the degree course, before returning to University to complete the final year. However, applications will be considered from suitable candidates who have recently completed their degree.
