The successful candidate will have graduated with a degree in geology, civil engineering or engineering geology and will have had 6 to 10 years' experience with a specialist consultancy, or in a geotechnical/geoenvironmental department of a larger consultancy. A further specialist post graduate degree will be an advantage and chartered candidates will have a distinct advantage in the selection process. You will have a sound understanding of UK geology and/or UK construction practice and be looking to build on your prior experience by taking on challenging projects and more responsibility. Demonstration of experience and expertise through all stages of the land contamination assessment process will be required from desk studies through to ground investigation and QRA, and on to remediation design, supervision and validation. A general knowledge of geotechnical engineering and its interaction with land quality will be necessary and excellent report writing skills will be required. You will be expected to combine site work with the challenge of design work and analysis and project management in a dynamic office environment. The client can offer:
