Our client is a successful consultancy growing ahead of market trends. Its business growth is directed by a team of sector Developers working closely with Consultancy Managers.
The Waste (and minerals/Mining) Sector Developer position has recently become vacant.
They are recognised as one of the top three technical advisers to a Local Authority waste client, developing strategies, business cases and procurement solutions under PFI funding.
My client also has a long track record in providing services to Waste Management companies developing and managing landfill sites and assisting with regulatory compliance.
There is a substantial opportunity for our client to present a wide range of relevant services to customers interested in transforming the UK’s waste management performance and asset base. A business plan is in place and this is directed by the Sector Developer.
Responsible to the Commercial Director you will direct and lead the implementation of their Waste procurement business plan.
Direct and manage operational business development activity linking as necessary policy, waste logistics, waste procurement, due diligence and waste asset development and management services.
The person appointed will be responsible for building a sustainable fee income stream of £7.0m pa from its present base of £5.0m pa; continued development of new business in Mineral and Mining sector will principally through others within the company.
This is an exceptional opportunity to take on a senior role within a well established, respected and successful business. The opportunity will be challenging and require creative thinking and market development as well as a commitment to good quality routine client development, sales and delivery.
The role essentially requires excellent people skills, a strong record in developing and managing client relationships and obvious influencing and communication skills.
First Degree: BSc Civil Engineering/Environmental Science/Chemical or Process Engineering/other relevant degree or equivalent
Second Degree: MBA Optional or equicvalent, but some form of business training preferred

Experience: Waste policy, waste logistics, waste procurement, dure diligence and waste asset devopment and management services
