Position: GIS Manager - Environment
Salary: Up to £35K + benefits

Purpose of the Job: · To establish and manage a GIS practice (and potentially manage CAD) · To provide line management support, guidance and development to the Digital Deliverables team · To act as technical expert for Environment in this area in the UK and the Europe and Africa region ultimately · To deliver technical input to environmental reports and studies in their own right · To develop the GIS capability for Environment throughout the UK · To operate with other offices and units as required

Main Responsibilities: · Establishment of a capable and professional team to gain the confidence of the internal client and subsequently external clients · Developing internal and external contacts and opportunities · Management of GIS element of projects to satisfy time and budgetary constraints · Line management of current and new staff on their appointment · Development of GIS procedures for consistent and high standards of work · Utilisation accountability for GIS and CAD works · Responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships with relation to the GIS and CAD business.

Essential Requirements: · Leadership/Flexibility/Reliability/Influence/Commitment/Confidence/Persistence/Initiative · Teamwork · BSc Geography or GIS subject · Chartered membership or equivalent of professional institution · Considerable experience in GIS within consultancy · Fully conversant with ArcGIS and add-ons and their uses · Knowledge of AutoCAD · Broad level of knowledge of GIS principles, computer technology and enterprise systems · Analytical Ability/Problem Solving/Creativity/Original Thinker · Excellent communication skills · Excellent PM and people skills essential · Good to excellent IT skills · Driving license
