This multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy are currently looking for experienced acoustics professionals with a background in the commercial acoustic consultancy sector (local authority/government experience may also be considered) to join their Middle East team.
The Middle East team has completed some significant projects and currently has approximately 450 staff operating mainly out of Dubai.
Responsibilities
Interpreting local noise regulations and ordinances for a project. Demonstrating on-site noise surveys and vibration measurements to junior level consultants. Inputting, analyzing and interpreting field data. Preparing conceptual designs for proposals and bids, including preparation of indoor/outdoor acoustic models using specialized software and feasibility analysis of various noise abatement scenarios. Developing detailed noise control designs in conjunction with other engineering disciplines. Reviewing and preparation of reports/proposals and bid documents within specified deadlines and supervising junior level consultants input. Delivering technical presentations and seminars to clients. Maintaining positive client relations and delivering technical presentations to clients as required. The ability to manage personal workloads and to establish and develop client relationships is key.
Requirements At least 10 years experience in commercial acoustic consulting (architectural & building acoustics). Bachelors or Masters Degree in acoustical/mechanical engineering or science at a senior consultant level in industrial and/or architectural acoustics and vibration. Project management experience. Ability to work to deadlines and produce technical reports without supervision or guidance. Ability to develop creative solutions within design team meetings based on experience. Strong communication skills and a highly self-motivated individual with strong problem solving skills are a distinct advantage.
Knowledge of systems such as CadnaA, Noisemap, Catt and Insul is important.
This position would be for a minimum of two years and may involve travel to India, across the Middle East and North Africa, so willingness to travel and an open-minded attitude to Middle Eastern values is essential.
