My client is recognised as an outstanding energy and climate change consultancy delivering exceptional technical advice, project and programme management services and policy support.

The Role

My client is looking for an environmental economist with expertise in biodiversity valuation, to support a wide range of policy projects within the fields of biodiversity and ecosystem service provision. Your background in this area would have come from academia, a research institute or consultancy, a government department or agency, or an NGO.

The Candidate

• Good team working skills, equally able to work within a team or to take the lead as required

• The ability to communicate, influence and network effectively internally and externally

• Experience in applying economics expertise to biodiversity and ecosystem service projects

• Experience of consultancy or policy delivery within / to the public sector (UK and/or EU)

• Previous experience of winning and/or delivering projects

• Experience of strategic policy design, analysis and appraisal, specifically focused on biodiversity/ecosystem issues

• Project management – managing complex projects and proposals

• EU and UK policy knowledge

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (environmental with an economics application or economics with an environmental application), with applied knowledge in the biodiversity sector.
