Role purpose:
We are looking for an environmental economist to support a wide range of policy projects within the environmental and energy markets. Ideal candidates will likelycome from a consultancy in a project-based role, or from an internal economics role within a government or academic organisation.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following skills:
• Excellent organisational abilities
• Strong problem solving skills
• The ability to communicate, influence and network effectively internally and externally
• A good understanding of commercial imperatives
• PC/IT literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
The Person:
• Experience in applying economics expertise to energy and environmental projects
• Experience of consultancy or policy delivery within the public sector environment
• Previous experience of winning and delivering projects
• Previous experience of leading teams
• Experience of policy design, analysis and appraisal, specifically focused on environmental and/or energy issues
• Project management – managing complex projects and proposals
• EU and UK Policy knowledge
• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
• Degree in economics preferable although not essential, with applied knowledge in the environmental sector
