Job: Consultant Noise and Vibration Specialist, Entec UK

Entec is a major environmental and engineering consultancy with over 900 staff and associates across a national network of offices. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to further develop their career in noise and vibration in Entec’s growing Acoustics team in Manchester or Shrewsbury. You will be working on an interesting and varied range of projects, your responsibilities will include on site noise and vibration monitoring; data analysis; prediction; assessment and reporting duties. 

You will be degree qualified in a relevant subject and, you should typically be able to demonstrate around 2-3 years experience of undertaking noise/vibration assessments. Ideally, you will have fieldwork experience and an understanding of noise legislation and guidance required for noise and vibration assessments for Environmental Statements. Proficiency in the use of noise modelling software would be preferable, we use LIMA. Additional experience in workplace noise/vibration assessments and building acoustics work would also be beneficial. Skills in CAD or GIS would also be desirable. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work flexibly with minimal supervision and will need clear and concise report writing skills allied to a good understanding of acoustics. Possession of or a willingness to move towards, corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics would be advantageous.
