Offshore Developer

Swindon - £23,000 - £30,000

npower renewables is one of the UK's leading renewable energy companies, dedicated to generating electricity using sustainable, environmentally-friendly resources. We have the resources and expertise to develop, build and operate high quality, commercial-scale renewable energy schemes throughout the UK.

Our operating portfolio includes both onshore and offshore wind farms, and hydroelectric power plant, and we are currently working on a joint project to develop our first wave power scheme in the Scottish isles. Utilising these natural resources provides significant sources of power for the UK's present and future electricity needs.

Assisting in the development of npower renewables’ offshore projects portfolio, you’ll work as part of a Project Development Team to take large offshore wind projects forward. Managing consultants to produce timely and accurate technical reports, you’ll liaise with all relevant local and national stakeholders, and produce progress briefs for all areas requiring specific attention. In addition to this, you’ll add your input into monthly reports, consent applications for offshore wind developments, and industry research. Opportunities will also arise for the management of environmental assessment and site surveys, wind farm design, financial appraisals and consent management.

To join us, you should be qualified to graduate level or above, and ideally have knowledge of renewable energy, the marine environment, EIA, the use of GIS, project management techniques, consent processes, or the legal frameworks for offshore wind farm development. An understanding of the investment appraisal process could also be advantageous. You should certainly have excellent analytical, communication and writing skills in order to communicate with stakeholders and produce accurate reports and presentations.
