A Principal Hydrologist is sought by our client to join its Natural and Built Environments team, based in its Edinburgh Office. Ideally you will have an appropriate degree and postgraduate qualifications, have gained Chartered status and a detailed knowledge of: UK water resources planning procedures, Catchment and resource system models such as HYSIM, MISER & AQUATOR, Flood estimation using FEH and rainfall-runoff models, Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments (PPS25) and Low Flow Studies, assessment of surface water resources and source sustainability investigations. Experience of international projects and R&D contracts is advantageous. To be successful in this role you will be expected to have a high level of technical expertise, be numerate, and be able to communicate easily orally and in writing with a proven track record in leadership and mentoring of junior staff. Projects are mainly located in the south of the UK, although it is possible that the opportunity for travel in the UK and internationally may arise. You should be able to demonstrate good time and project management, effective communication and strong reporting skills. A flexible attitude, strong interpersonal skills and presentation experience are considered very advantageous. An excellent salary and benefits package is offered.
