Job: Radioactive Substances Commercial Manager, Eden Recruitment Ltd

Applicants are likely to hold a Degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline with evidence of numeracy. A higher degree, along with Chartered status in a relevant professional body, would be preferred although this is not a pre-requisite. You will be recognised as an expert in your field, with experience of negotiating, or presenting information, at a national or international level. Experience of working in a commercial environment, with enthusiasm for bidding for, and winning, contract based work. A sound knowledge of the UK nuclear industry, its regulators and Government policy drivers, with a broader understanding of the European nuclear opportunities is required. Specific skills in the area of radiological protection, including: Safety Assessments and Safety Case preparation or review, assessment of radiological exposure of the public within the context of RSA 93, land management on nuclear licensed sites (bringing familiarity with good practice -guidance, desk based and site investigations) and waste management (particularly related to LLW conditioning and disposal, optioneering, consents and integrated waste strategies) is also preferred.
